Finding particular stars
The official directory at walkoffame.com gives each honoree’s category, street address and ceremony date. Gene Autry is the one person with five stars, one in each of five categories, spread from 6384 to 7000 Hollywood Blvd, which makes a small route of its own. Watching a star ceremony
Ceremonies are free and open to the public, with a public viewing area subject to City restrictions. Recent ones have been held at 11:30 am PT, and each is streamed live on the official site. The star ceremonies page lists recent dates.
Inside, with a ticket
The Dolby Theatre, home of the Academy Awards, sells a 30-minute guided tour that visits the Dolby Lounge and an Oscar statuette, per its listing; the listing also notes several flights of stairs. Madame Tussauds Hollywood has more than 120 wax figures, according to its listing, with admission valid for one day and no set entry time; the ticket includes the Jumanji Safari Tours 4D film, and an option adds Jumanji Cobra Quest 7D. With a guide on foot
The guided walking tour lasts 2 hours and starts outside Musso & Frank Grill, per its listing. The description includes the story behind the “blank star”, a Hearst–Chaplin murder-mystery story, the El Capitan, the Magic Castle (a private club for members and their guests, seen from outside) and one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s homes, ending back at Musso’s with a view of the Hollywood Sign. Beyond the boulevard, by tour
Two listings leave the sidewalk for the hills. The Hollywood Sunset Walk spends about 40 minutes in Runyon Canyon Park after about 20 minutes on the Walk, timed for sunset. The Hollywood night tour drives the boulevard and stops for 30 minutes at Griffith Observatory, which is free to enter and closed on Mondays, per griffithobservatory.org. The open-air bus tour continues to the Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills. The tours hub sets all six products side by side.
The Hollywood Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays according to its site, and Griffith Observatory is closed on Mondays, so a Wednesday to Sunday visit has both open.
